City of Stratford 2020 Budget Survey

The City of Stratford is currently preparing its 2020 budget, and would like to hear from citizens about their priorities for the coming year, and what they would like to see included in the budget.

Your input and contribution to the 2020 budget process will assist City Council in making important decisions for our community in the coming months.

Here are some numbers to consider before completing the survey:

The 2019 budget reflected an overall levy increase of 2.99% on the municipal portion of the tax bill. For a residential property owner with a single family detached home assessed at $298,634, the increase meant an additional $109.89 in municipal taxes, compared to the previous year.

For 2020, the base operating budget shows an increase of approximately 3.5%. That’s a starting point, and will likely change depending on City Council’s deliberations over the coming weeks, as well as the submission of remaining budgets from outside agencies and shared services with the County of Perth and the Town of St. Marys.
